I recon that they are the Ascalonian Soliders who were the spearhead of the attack on the char home lands after they were thought to be defeated in Ascalon and on the run.

I made a guild named after them regardless

A lot of NPCs in the desolation say they are waiting for the arrival of another true blooded heir. They arn't refering to the Ossa line, but rather the line of primeaval kings ending in Ruriks father.
In GW:EN we join up with the Ebon Vanguard, resistance fighters trapped behind ascalon's wall. Fighting among them is the other true blooded heir to the primeaval kings, Gwen. She doesn't know it when you join her but as the last true blooded heir she will aid you in defeating the Destroyers.

i like that idea, but im thinking if pre-searing has anything to do with GWEN, maybe Devona is their leader?

Ebon Vanguard are obviously Ascalon Vanguard/Ascalon Army Soldiers that pushed far into Charr Terrortory and merged to create the Ebon Vanguard.

From what Gwen says from the sound files it appears they have no communication with Ascalon and probably believe everything there perished with the searing.With no home to go back to its simple to establish the Ebon Vanguard and try to survive in the north.

For as far as i know Rurik and Adelbern aren't in the blood line of old kings of Ascalon. Duke Baradin is likely to become a king of a third blood line of king of Ascalon. I am just too tiered to check now so i let it for tommorow.

Adelbern is actually a warrior king who got elected to become king after the Guild Wars.

Someone took sound files out of the dat. They appear to be the first conversation you make with Gwen when you meet her (The Player does not confirm he is from Ascalon so it is yet to be known if Gwen will even know you to make up for Canthans and Elonans)

She also gives the name of the captain who she is standing in for - Captain Langmar (sp?)

I believe that the king of Poland was elected to the role for a while...during the 18th century or thereabouts?

Couldnt be. Devona followed the Hero (you) through to acension and beyond. She then went to cantha and elona in turn.

Is Gwen being "of royal blood" a theory or fact?
